(above) Truly a special project- commissioned stained glass mermaid for a client in Costa Rica. This piece was built in Cincinnati, mounted on rigid waterproof board, crated and shipped. Installation presented many challenges- pool chemicals erosion concerns, demolition of existing pool wall, and finding a hardware store close just to name a few.
(right) One of my first projects (2003). 38"x 55" river rock mosaic. I had a hard time seeing "the forest through the trees" because the scale was so large. I got creative by getting up on a ladder above the piece. Using a pair of binoculars backwards, I was able to see it as if it was at a far distance. This technique helps me step back and see what needs to be corrected. Challenge of this one was getting it mounted on the wall - over 100 lbs.!
